The Rest of Our Story...

Harvest of Grace Winery is a dream come true for Jonathan and Sheri Seibert. We have shared a love for wine for decades and would often say, "wouldn't it be cool if...?" Then Sheri had a dream one night with a vision of a place (winery) and logo of a rugged cross draped with a grape vine. I woke up and immediately sketched it out along with the words "Harvest of Grace".

Jonathan, being a chemist, started making wine in our basement as many do, and we visited wineries wherever our travels took us, asking all the questions and learning as much as we could. In 2019, a new winery opened in our Chicago suburb and we of course had to be one of its first customers. In 2020, well you know what happened, we wanted to show our support of the new local small business to ensure it survived those hard times. Jonathan got to know the winemaker and their conversations ultimately evolved into how to start a winery when you're not a millionaire. Long story short, in 2021 Bill introduced us to his grape broker and offered to let us use his equipment to make our first batch of wine.

We moved to North Carolina later that year having started wine in IL and having no real plan for property. Crazy, huh? But we believed the dream was prophetic and we saw how God was putting the pieces together one by one, so we just continued to walk in faith. A friend of mine drove by the property at 1120 Lake Rd., saw the potential, and sent me pictures right away. It was further away from where we lived, (in Beaufort) but it had been a winery before as many of you know. So we were connected with the owner, and in January of 2025, we purchased the property.

As we only had one wine ready, we needed others to fill out our menu. So having met many of the North Carolina wineries at various expos/conferences, we reached out to one that had mentioned helping us. Let me tell you, the wine industry is full of so many wonderful, kind and creative people. It's like an extended family; they want each other to be successful. Entering story is Ben and Murphy. We worked with them to create seven additional wines, all from North Carolina grapes.

And Harvest of Grace opened its doors on Oct. 11th, 2025. Our hope is to be a light within the community, providing an enjoyable wine experience of course, but we want to get to know our neighbors. We plan to have affordable event space for small and large events, food trucks, crafting days, book club, Bible studies, and maybe even a community garden someday. We are continuing to dream!

Special thanks to Bill and Sondra, Ben and Kim, Murphy, Mitchell and all our family and friends who have prayed for, encouraged and supported us along the way. And above all, to God be all the glory for what he has and will continue to do. May we be His hands and feet.
